LISTER LE MANS ENTRY CONFIRMED
It was confirmed at the meeting to launch the LMES last Thursday that the Lister LMP900 is one of the 20 cars that has been pre-selected to participate at the 24 Heures du Mans 2004.
The reason for Lister’s invitation is our second place in the FIA GT Championship 2003 – although the team name and make of car must remain the same it is possible to change category. Both the LMP and the GT are Lister Storms so they were able to change their invitation to the LMP 900 category.

Like minded!
Just had to put up this letter I read in Motorsport News this week. copied word for word but couldn't agree more.
A trip to the Wyedean rally near Chepstow last weekend reaffirmed my love of the sport - but also left me with a twinge of sadness.
the Wyedean is always the first motorsport event of the year for me and my sons. There is always a special "back to school" atmosphere on the stages and this year was no different.
One of the best things about the dunlop/BTRDA series is the variety of machinery on display. whether it is Andy Burton's Peugeot Coswort or a little 1400cc Vauxhall Nova being driven far beyond the limit, I was overjoyed to see the commitment of the drivers.
So why the sadness? well, the strenght in depth of the Wyedean entry list prompted me to compare it to the current joke of a series that is the FIA World rally Championship.
There seemed to be as many WRC cars in the Forrest of Dean as there were on the recent Swedish rally, a situation that should cause Max Mosley and his lackeys acute embarrassment.
No slight on the BTRDA, but surely the premier rally series on the planet should be setting an example to club championships - and not the other way round?

Update
Wyedean rally was an excellent day out. Well organised event with good spectating, no stupid penning in of spectators. £5 entry fee per car access all car parks, 180 car entry list including WRC cars. All the drivers showing some commitment. I've put up some pictures and video clips on my site
Makes you wonder where rallying is going at the top level. Event was won by Andy Burton in his home made Peugeot Cosworth (awesome machine) but apart from this the Mk2 Escorts were superb. There was even a Nissan 240RS out to play, haven't seen one of those for years.
We managed to watch two stages, handily on opposite sides of the road, and by my reckoning watched at least 240 cars go by (Obviously some twice!) it would probably take at least 5 stages to see that number on Rally GB.

News update
Well, a few things to report since last time, finished decorating hurrah!!, sebastian Loeb wins in Sweden in his citoen , a good result for him , two out of two this year. ford also looking good.
Colin Mcrae could be on for a drive in the Le Mans 24hour race this year in a Ferrari. that'll be worth watching - I'll be there anyway.
I myself am off to watch on the Wydean rally next weekend, proper rally with big entry list from Andy Burton's Peugeot Cosworth to Mk2 Escorts and Landrovers, this rally is always worth a day out. hopefully I'll put some vids and pictures on the site when I get back.
got a couple of new video clips on the site here, including short clip from this years Swedish.

WRC
Can't seem to get away from the decorating - anyway at the end of day 2 on the Monte Carlo rally, the lead is held by Loeb in the citroen who's a good minute and a half ahead of Duval in the Ford and Martin in the next Ford Focus WRC. The Focus seems to be going well on this first event of the year , following on their impressive displays towards the latter end of last year.
Only four stages tomorrow, so barring any mishaps looks like Sebastin Loeb and Citroen for the winners podium. Another stage was cancelled today due to spectators - I wonder how they're going to sort this continuing problem? How about increasing the stage mileage on rallies so that the spectators aren't all trying to get to the same stage!! Have some proper rallies instead of present day sprints..............

First Round of 2004 WRC
It's back, the first round of the 2004 World rally Championship kicked off today with the Monte Carlo Rally. Wonder how much interest there will be in the UK now we have no drivers in the works teams Richard Burns off with his illness and Colin Mcrae dropped from ford and unable to get a drive.
First stage was cancelled due to spectator overcrowding, and at the moment Gronholm is leading from Loeb and Martin after 4 stages.
ITV have got the television rights this year and plan to show an hour long program on Sunday afternoon. They've taken over from Channel 4 and will be interesting to see how good the coverage is.
I reckon this year will be a big battle between the three drivers who are in the top three places at the moment. I personally would like to see Marko Martin have a good year with the Ford Focus WRC.
